“Yizo Yizo” Filmmaker Teboho Mahlatsi Dead At 49

At 49, most people are still brimming with life and hopeful of at least another 51 years ahead of them. But life happens and their journey is cut short. That is the sad reality of Teboho Mahlatsi right now. The Isibaya creator has just been reported dead. He was 49.

His family confirmed his death in a statement released on Monday, part of which reads: “It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of filmmaker and producer.” The family also requested privacy as they mourned their tragic loss.

In lieu of condolences, the family would prefer prayers and the public respecting their privacy.

Until his death, Teboho charmed South African with his production sinews. He’s produced several flicks, some of which are well-known across South Africa today. The most notable among them are Isibaya and Yizo Yizo.

While details of his funerals have not been announced yet, fans are enjoined to keep their eyes peeled for the further announcement, which would likely come out this week – or at most early next. We will be here to share that with you, of course. Stay tuned.
