Young Dolph Shot Dead In Memphis

American rapper Young Dolph has been shot and killed in Memphis, his hometown, joining a bloody list of American rappers who have died by the gun.

Multiple reports indicated that Young Dolph, 36, was buying cookies at the time he was shot dead. He was at Makeda’s Butter Cookies when a gunman drove up and shot him through the window.

The mayor of Memphis Jim Strickland confirmed the death, noting in a tweet that violent crime brings so much pain with it. He also prayed for the family of the slain rapper.

Young Dolph, whose birth name is Adolph Robert Thornton Jr, was born in Chicago but was raised by his grandmother in Memphis.

He had released freestyles with his pals as well as mixtapes. But in 2016 he released his first studio album, “The King of Memphis,” which peaked at 49 on the Billboard 200 chart. His second album, “Rich Slave,” followed four years later, in 2020.

Young Dolph has had several brushes with death until the evil reaper finally became successful. In past interviews, he had noted that he had no real dad but learned from the streets as well as from his grandmother. He also noted that he had been targeted 17 times.
