SA Hip Hop rapper YoungstaCpt and producer Shaney Jay have dropped the visuals for their collaboration “Benni McCarthy.”
One thing we love about YoungstaCPT’s music is how honest it is. The Cape Town rapper takes from his community and uses it to inspire others. He teamed up with Shaney Jay for the new joint “Benni McCarthy.”
It is the lead single off their second collaborative project, “Suffer The Beauty.” Speaking about the song, he said, “I wrote the song ‘Benni McCarthy’ in 2022 around the time the news broke that he was going to be coaching with Manchester United. It was a magical moment for all Cape Townians and seeing him on the same field as Ronaldo, who also returned to the football club. I wanted to capture that feeling of pride and patriotism in music.”
The new video was directed by Mzi Xander. It shows Hanover Park, McCarthy’s birthplace, and Athlone Stadium. Check it out below.
