South African singer Zahara has officially taken herself off the market after saying “yes” to the marriage proposal made by her long-term companion. Mpho Xaba, an engineer, made his proposal to Zahara in her house in Johannesburg on Friday, in the company of her immediate family and several close friends.
On Saturday, the singer shared a picture of the engagement along with a video of it on Twitter, where she also broke the good news to her followers. In addition, Zahara included a caption with the following: “While other guys in my life were busy performing load shedding, I found myself a generator.” The tweet gathered popularity very fast, and Zahara began trending on Twitter as a result of the congrats that her followers gave her.
The two have publicly acknowledged their relationship on social media for the past half year, during which time they have been together for six months. She is now engaged after a difficult year in which Zahara dealt with both personal and professional challenges. Despite this, the singer has made a full recovery and can now be found living a contented life with the support of her boyfriend.
Messages of congratulations, expressing happiness and excitement for the pair, have been pouring in across Zahara’s social media platforms since it was announced that she is engaged. Although Zahara has not disclosed any information on her future nuptials, her devoted followers are impatiently awaiting updates from the singer herself.
