South African Singer Zahara, is set to venture into another stage of entertainment, she is to hang her guitar for a while as she becomes an actor on set of a local film. The star in an interview stated further that the movie she is to star in is titled “Mbali”. Although she explained she was not suppose to give any information on the project but hinted that the shootings will commence next month. Describing the movie role in her words;
Mine is one of the main roles. I am not an extra. I will be on the screen often. I was approached to be part of the film and jumped at the opportunity. I am nervous. There is a lot to learn but I feel confident.
The music star also said acting had always been in her plans and her mother had always wanted her to be an actor or actress. In her words;
My mother always said I should be a comedian or actress. She told me I would do well at it, so it was always part of the plan.
Bulelwa Mkutukana, popular known as Zahara who has plans to release a new album this year is also slated for tours in US, Canada, UK and Germany. She will also share stage with Msaki and Berita for the first time at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park in Johannesburg on February 15 for “songstresses with guitars” concert. Another feather has been added to her cap as she is set to become a screen star.
