Zakes Bantwini, L’vovo and several other artists blast the government for R1bn Taxi Relief.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected so many sectors in Mzansi and each one is trying to be assisted better. For a while now, the entertainment sector has complained of neglect by the government and disputed the R150 million allocated to the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture.

A recent reported shows that people were left stranded on Gauteng after the taxi industry embarked on a strike. The strike began after the taxi industry rejected the R1.135bn relief offer from the government. They are demanding to be given significantly more than around R10bn.

Reacting to the news, Zakes Bantwini and L’vovo blasted the government for allocating an incredibly lesser amount to the entertainment industry. According to them, the entertainment industry isn’t taken as seriously as it should be. Zakes asked what the Entertainment economy did wrong while L’vovo tweeted,

What are we gonna do with money? We must just pop up and sing and dance.”
