Idols South Africa 2020. And the winner is…. Zama! Zama Adelaide Khumalo, has been given the Idols SA crown for 2020. She beats Mr Music to it, after the two performed live at the grand finale.
The coronavirus pandemic almost derailed this year’s event, but after a series of meetings, it was decided the show should go on. Zama had made it to the top three alongside Mr Music and Brandon Dhludhlu.
Brandon Dhludhlu had been edged out along the way, leaving Zama and Mr Music to vie for the coveted crown. With her Idols SA Season 16 win, Zama becomes an instant millionaire.
Among the goodies she would take home as the winner are music equipment from Yamaha worth R80k, a recording deal with Oskido’s Kalawa Jazmee Records, latest Samsung products worth R150k, a Toyota Starlet 1.4., and fashion gear from Truworths.
The atmosphere was somewhat tense, just before the announcement of the winner, with both finalists staining, heads downcast, waiting the final decision of the judges. Zama was visibly emotional when she was announced winner.
After the fianle, she had thanked fans for their support.
