Zandile Msutwana On Her Role As Funeka In Mzansi Magic’s “Grootboom and Sons”

Mzansi Magic’s new drama series, Grootboom and Sons, has got many people talking, including, of course, the woman who played the lead role in the flick: Zandile Msutwana.

She’s not exactly a newbie on the acting scene, but her role in Grootboom and Sons rings so differently – totally different from her person and the roles she had taken on previously.

According to Zandile Msutwana, Grootboom and Sons is a Xhosa show with a mostly Xhosa cast. The story takes viewers into the world of a funeral parlor owner, who at his death leaves his business for his younger daughter, Vuyo, to run.

The older daughter, Funeka, who, true to her name, loves fun and a good time, leaves home to found her own business, a cosmetics brand. But she ran back home to join the family business after getting into trouble with some bad blokes.

Although older than Vuyo, Funeka is young at heart, stylish and manipulative. According to Zandile Msutwana, she loves the role because it is more challenging

Well, Zandile Msutwana might be chuffed about her role in the flick, but some viewers don’t think much of it. In fact, some of them are already calling for Grootboom and Sons to be canceled.
