Here Are South Africa’s “Songs Of The Year” 2020 So Far

Here’s a listen of the top songs of the year so far in South Africa right now.

Truly, the SA music industry is not one to dull when it comes to music releases. It’s been two months into 2020, and already some of the biggest songs of the year have dropped and taken over the airwaves.

Here’s a list of some of them.

• DJ Maphorisa x Kabza De Small – Phoyisa Ft. Cassper Nyovest & Qwestakufet

About a week after new year’s day, the Scorpion Kings teamed up with SA Hip Hop star, Cassper Nyovest and Qwestakufet to deliver the song “Phoyisa. About a month-plus later, it is already one of the biggest songs of the year and a personal favourite of our beloved Miss Universe,  Zozibini Tunzi.

• Cassper Nyovest – Good For That

Once this song comes to mind, you have no choice but to move to the rhythm. That’s exactly Cassper Nyovest’s plan, to have all of Mzansi dancing to his tune. The song has already inspired the #GoodForThatChallenge which Cassper officially announced last year.

• Prince Kaybee – Uwrongo Ft. Ami Faku, Black Motion & DJ Shimza

Prince Kaybee has been having a great time on the airwaves with his latest hit song, Uwrong featuring Ami Faku, Black Motion and DJ Shimza. The song even topped the radio songs chart at some point and is still pushing strong.

• Costa Titch – Nkalakatha Rmx Ft. Riky Rick & AKA

Following the release of “Nkalakatha” by SA rapper, Costa Titch, the remixed version was released featuring rappers AKA and Riky Rick. The new version has already been deemed one of the biggest songs of the year by so many including a politician who can’t get enough of it.

• Robbie Wesels – Khoi and Son

Since the release of Robbie Wessels’ Khoi and Son, the singer has enjoyed a lot of recognition from music lovers. The Mzansi singer has been having the time of his life as everyone can’t get enough of the amazing song.

• Emtee – Wave

SA rapper, Emtee The Hustla made a huge comeback this year with two new joints including this one. Fellow rapper, Blaklez reviewing it, said it slaps, and all of Mzansi concurred. The song has already made a huge impression on the charts and the airwaves and is still going strong.

• Emtee – Brand New Day Ft. Lolli

Emtee has surely proven himself with his new music featuring Lolli. The rapper previous shared a snippet of this song’s video but announced he hasn’t been able to release it because his emails were hacked. Still, the song is still one of the most played tunes in the country.

• Tshego – No Ties Ft. King Monada

When Tshego and King Monada released the song “No Ties”, all of Mzansi went wild. Fast forward to now, the whole country is still feeling it. Both artistes are incredible on the song and they made it a masterpiece that will live for a really long time.

• Mlindo The Vocalist – Valentine Is Coming Ft. Masiano

Mlindo The Vocalist is out to have fun this year with his very comedic version of “Valentine Is Coming” featuring Masiano. The song was released after the previously announced one “Yekela” was pushed back due to cover art issues. Since it dropped, it has been one of the most talked about songs of the year.

• A-Reece – In Hi$ Image [EXP 1]

SA rapper, A-Reece kicked off the new year with this song and it reminded his fans of his incredible lyrical flow. Up till this moment, it is still one of the most played songs this year, and has enjoyed a lot of success.

• A-Reece – $Elfi$H [ EXP 2 ]

When A-Reece dropped this loosie cut, fans went nuts. He talked about being aimed at because of his relationships, and how it makes him feel special. This here is a sure jam and it is going to be around for a while.
