After a 5 year hiatus, Big Brother Mzansi is set to make a comeback, and we are all excited. Interested participants are called to sign up to be able to audition for a place in Biggie’s house when the show debuts in 2022.
Produced by Endemol, the show was formerly called Big Brother South Africa and previously aired for 2 seasons before going off on a long hiatus. The first season of Big Brother South Africa debuted 20 years ago, in 2001 and was hosted by Mark Pilgrim, who remained as a host in its second season.
Its first season featured a total of 12 housemates including Ferdi, who finally emerged winner, Vuyo who was the first runner up, Nobesuthu (3rd place), Riaad, and more. It held for 106 days. The first season of the show was a hit, giving the participants some recognition. The second season of the show held for a total of 79 days after which Richard emerged winner on the final day. Jacqui was the first runner-up, while Puledi came in third.
After the first and second seasons of Big Brother South Africa, it made a comeback in 2013 with the name Big Brother Mzansi. A second season of Big Brother Mzansi held in 2015. Both hosted by Lungile Radu, Mandla, Ntombi & Ace emerged winners.
Multi-choice has now announced a 3rd season of the show set to air in 2022. Auditions are finally open.
To participate in the Auditions, simply click the link, and fill out the online audition form. You will be required to send in a 2-min video of yourself. Be careful, you must aim to impress the auditioners. Then, click submit and hope you get in.
Selected participants will be contacted with details about the audition. Big Brother Mzansi auditions opened on Tuesday 19 October at 07h00, and will run until Saturday, 6 November at 17h00.
