Kenyan Music treats you to a wide range of rhythm. Its diverse nature is as a result of the multiple types of folk music based on 40 different regional languages. Their songs tell different stories which has to do with their culture.
There is the all round classification of music known as the Zanzibaran taarab music which consists of hip hop, ,soul, soukous, reggae, zouk, rock and roll, funk and the Euro pop genre. Kenyan artistes like Sauti Sol, Nandy, Boondock Gang among others, belongs to the various music genres. Like many other African music industry, the Kenyan music scene has also gotten various international recognition and some artistes have done collaborations with other top artistes in Africa and beyond. The country is also home to some music colleges.
