From “My Journey,” South African disc jockey and producer DJ Stokie has made strides musically—inroads into new territories—and now he informs his fans a d admirers in a new compilation that “My Journey Continues.” Welcome to the world of his new album.
This compilation bears 16 tracks, which might be considered any. But then, that is not something we see anyone complaining about. For one, amapiano producers are almost always generous with the tracks, heaping them like nobody’s business. Lol.
At any rate, the numbers are potent enough and cover enough ground to be both entertaining and didactic. And whatever your genre of devotion, chances are you would love what the songster has put together.
DJ Stokie didn’t go it all alone but tapped the vocal resources of his fellow South Africans, including Loxion Deep, Buuhle SA and Soweto’s Finest. Now, that’s a gathering of champions, and what you have is a semblance of “champion sound.”
