Kabza De Small and Da Muziqal Chef premiere a new song titled “Konka,” featuring associates and fellow Africans Young Stunna, Nkulee501, and Skroef28.
It’s a promise made and fulfilled in a sense for Kabza De Small, who’s also known as the Piano King because of his contributions to the amapiano genre in South Africa.
Prior to dropping the number, he’d released a teaser on Instagram, cluing fans in on what to expect.. well, looking back, fans at least have not waited in vain. The released jam bears the vibe one expects from Kabelo.
Da Muziqal Chef, who occupies the position of the second lead singer on the number, is easily one voice that makes even the drabbest number sumptuous and enjoyable.
Young Stunna, Nkulee501 and Skroef28 come in as great complements on the beat. All three have made great contributions to the amapiano music scene in South Africa, so it is not surprising that they should be co-opted on the beat.
One thing about “Konka” is that, besides its local references, it’s also a number that will appeal to music lovers beyond the orbit of amapiano. So, whether you’re into the genre or not, you most likely will still find it worth your time. Let the music begin.
