The Major League DJz brothers continue their amapiano odyssey with a new drop dubbed “Exclusive (Balcony Mix),” featuring fellow South African Musa Keys.
There is nothing novel in the twin brothers Bandile and Banele deciding to link up with another artist to drop a mix. They have been doing that for a while now. But they didn’t start that way.
At the outset, it was just the two of them dropping their mixes. Along the line, they’d started co-opting other musicians. In their collaborative mixing run, they’d worked with a couple of notable voices, including Kabza De Small.
In a sense, then, it’s a return to old habits for the brothers. And no, there’s nothing to quarrel with here. They did a great job with Musa Keys, and one can only nod at the outcome. “Exclusive (Balcony Mix)” is a triumph of piano music and something you can rock without regrets.
