There are several series in South Africa that keep viewers entertained every other week. Some of them have been around for so long that they have become household names.
beyond that, there is, of course, fierce competition for the attention of viewers. Well, what’s currently for the 19:30 timeslot in Mzansi? It turned out that after a fierce competition, “Skeem Saam” won the day.
“Skeem Saam” is part of the SABC network whereas “Scandal!” is part of the etv network. Both series [play at the same time across South Africa on Mondays.
Given how popular they both are, it is inevitable that a lot of viewers would tune in. But who would sacrifice one series for the other? And which series would be sacrificed for the other?
The numbers came out on Monday, as shared by popular entertainment commentator Phil Mphela. He revealed that “Skeem Saam” ruled the waves with 3.3 million viewers on Monday.

The result speaks for itself. “Skeem Saam” is, of course, the more popular of the two series. Viewers made that happen.
