66th Annual Grammy Awards: Nandi Madida Celebrates Taylor Noah & Tyla’s Success

The Grammy Awards are so highly rated that when someone wins it, especially an African, there is usually wild jubilation \noty just by the winner but by their compatriots as well. This reality manifests again and again.

It was no different with the win recorded by South African singer Tyla, whose “Water” tune impressed the Recording Academy enough to pick it as the winner in a category peopled by way older and more experienced artists.

Singer Tyla was nominated for and ultimately won a Grammy in the Best African Music Performance category. Also on the ground for the occasion was celebrated comedian and former The Daily Show host, Trevor Noah.

Trevor Noagh was the host of the August event. It was the fourth time in a row that he had hosted the Grammy – a testament to his creative ingenuity and appeal as a host.

Well, as far as singer and actress Nandi Madida is cornered, with Tyla’s win and Trevor Noah as host of the vent, it was a big day for South Africa at the Grammys over the weekend. And she celebrated it.
