6ix9ine Denied Early Prison Release Due To Coronavirus

American rapper, 6ix9ine has been denied early release amidst the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The rapper’s lawyer applied for his early release due to the fast spread of the Coronavirus in prison facilities. The rapper who has four month to go in his sentence, is highly susceptible to the disease because of his medical history which includes him having asthma, bronchitis and sinusitis. After much plea, the judge handling the case, denied 6ix9ine’s plea on the grounds that the Court didn’t have the legal authority to modify his sentence at any point in time.

The Judge further stated that as at the time the “Gummo” rapper was sentence, a pandemic of such manner was not predicted and the system didn’t know that the last five months of the rapper’s (who suffers from Asthma) sentence will be marked by a pandemic, so there was nothing the court could really do.

6ix9ine was arrested and charged to court for offenses he committed when he was part of a gang, as far back as 2017, after one of the ex gang member made some confessions which implicated him. The rapper was sent to jail for 2 years and is suppose to be out of jail by 31st of July 2020.
