Ace Magashule Banking On Delegates To Override His Disqualification At The ANC Conference

The suspended secretary general of the ruling African National Congress (ANC) Ace Magashule has noted that he is putting his disqualification to contest in any elective position in the hands of delegates as they converge for a conference this week.

Ace Magashule was the first high-ranking member of the government to face a corruption investigation following the coming to power of President Cyril Ramaphosa. In November 2020, an arrest warrant was issued for him.

The corruption case was reported to have taken place in 2014 when Ace was the head of the provincial government in the Free State in 2014. At the time an arrest was issued for him, he had declared that he was not worried, as he had done nothing wrong.

Anyway, at the moment with the specter of corruption still hanging over his political career, the staunch Zuma loyalist is banking on the support of delegates at the ANC national conference to reverse the decision barring him from standing from any elective post this week.

Ace insists he is the ANC; was born there and no one can expel him from the party. Now. He’s banking on the delegates to push ahead in his political ambition. But will the delegates side with him?
