AKA Set To Sue Cassper Nyovest Over Misleading Billiato Ad

Amity appears to be far away on the road between AKA and fellow South African rapper Cassper Nyovest. The two have been beefing for as long as we can remember, and things appeared to have worsened with AKA taking legal action against the “Tito Mboweni” chanter.

But what really went wrong this time?

It turned out Cassper Nyovest, who owns the Billiato alcohol brand, had posted a picture of AKA advertising the brand. In the caption to the Instagram post, which you can take out below, the songster urged his followers to meet the new brand ambassador of Billiato.

It turned out that AKA actually had not a partnership with the brand. In fact, he has a subsisting partnership with a competing alcohol brand, Cruz Vodka, and was also reportedly discussing new partnerships with other brands.

So Cassper’s post gave the impression that the “Fela in Versace” rapper was, in fact, in a partnership with Billiato, which would invariably hurt AKA’s deals with other brands.

And he’s having none of that misrepresentation. So he wrote his lawyers about it, and they issued a statement in which they clarified that their client would be pursuing legal action against Cassper, whose name they didn’t mention.
