Al Ahly Secures AFL semi-final Spot After Defeating Simba

Al Ahly has secured a spot in the African Football League (AFL) semi-finals after winning Simba with away goals.

According to recent reports, Egyptian giants Al Ahly have secured their place in the inaugural African Football League (AFIL) semi-finals following Tuesday’s match. The club scored a 1-1 home draw with Simba SC, which saw them through on away goals.

According to a report by Cafonline, Simba took the lead on Tuesday through “Sadio Kanoute’s composed second-half finish to keep alive their hopes of advancing to the last four.” However, Al Ahly remained resilient and kept their energy up. Ghei finally equalized through Mahmoud Abdelmonem Kharaba a few moments later. The club was sure to celebrate their deserved victory.

The Egyptian club became the first to clinch a semi-final spot in the history of the pan-African competition. It would be unfair to ignore Simba’s commendable debut on their efforts throughout the game. Unfortunately, their journey in the competition came to an end after the match.

Al Ahly now dreams of being crowned the first-ever champions of the new tournament. The Egyptian club already had 11 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League titles. They might just add the new title to their belt if their luck does not run out in the next matches.
