Amapiano is the in-thing in South Africa right now, and it just might become the in-thing in the world soon, thanks to the efforts of local champs in the genre, some of whom were in London recently and wooed many with their piano offerings.
At the recent Amapiano Festival (AmaFest) in London, the first of its kind, artists like Mr. Jazziq, Kamo Mphela, Cassper Nyovest, TXC, Focalistic, DBN Gogo and Cassper Nyovest were on hand to treat the crowd to piano music.
It was a night of great music and the crowd had a wonderful time. If you missed the live shows, you don’t have much to worry, as the artists themselves have shared clips of their performances in London.
In a tweet yesterday September 7, an excited Cassper Nyovest had celebrated the amapiano genre and the fact that he had a wonderful time in London. He had also subtly advertised his sneaker brand, stating it was 990 degrees cold in London (R990 is the price of his Root of Fame sneakers range released in collaboration with Drip Footwear).
