Amid Ongoing Criminal Charges, Trump Compares Himself To Nelson Mandela

It is not yet uhuru for America’s former president Donald Trump, who is facing multiple charges, some of which are grievous enough to see him sent to the slammer. But the MAGA is defiant and fighting tooth and nail not to end up in prison.

Amid the whole drama, Trump, who is angling to snag the Republican Party nomination, has described himself as a victim of political persecution. He compared himself to South Africa’s former president Nelson Mandela, who was jailed for 27 years only to emerge from prison to rule South Africa for a term.

The point is that, in spite of all the “persecutions” and posturing against him, he will still emerge triumphant from them all – contrary to what some people expect, and to their shame. If that will actually happen is left to time.

In the interim, the investigations into his past as a former president – and even his time before then – continue. Trump is facing about 91 criminal charges, including his mishandling of classified information, as well as his plans to overturn the 2020 elections which he lost.

With the ongoing turmoil in the Middle East, tweeps are even beginning to imagine what the situation would be like if Trump were still president.
