Apple Music continues its Song stories series featuring super talented artiste, Ami Faku’s “Imali”
The music app has been doing series on song stories of artistes, it had earlier feature Amanda black, now it has take on Ami Faku on her new song teaming up with sensational duo Blaq Diamond.
Ami Faku was the recipient of the apple music new artist spotlight in October 2019. Ami Faku discovered her talent at an early age while singing in the choir with her father being a pastor. She started to experiment on styles from Gospel to reggae to hip-hop until she was finally able to develop her style incorporating it with her Xhosa heritage.
The singer has released a lot of songs with lyrics to be proud of, with an awesome story line to go with it, this is evident from her releases like “Into ingawe”,”Ubuhle Bakho” and her recent release which has an awesome story line to it and apple music is telling it.
Ami Faku described the song Imali as a reflection of the difficult times in her life and felt she left people behind who were unable to afford their needs and were suffering. Being a song people can relate too she just wanted to put it out there.
