Make a good movie and people will pay you to have it – you will make a ton of money. That’s the verdict and it manifests again and again in the global film universe. A sterling example right now is Avatar: The Way of Water, which has just grossed over $600 million at the worldwide box office.
on the domestic scene, the film had reportedly earned a total of $183 million in addition to an impressive $426.8 million from overseas.
When Avatar: The Way of Water was initially announced, it generated great interest, with some movie buffs saying they couldn’t wait to have a peek into the Marvel universe. The numbers so far indicate that the initial interest was not a fluke.
Not only did the people show curiosity, but they had also gone ahead to watch a good flick – a win-win for all.
China has been the biggest market so far and has earned an additional $70.5 million in spite of the snarl of the coronavirus pandemic in the communist enclave. Other countries that have done somewhat well with Avatar: The Way of Water are France and Korea, which bring in $37 million and $32.1 million to the table respectively.
Given how the numbers have swelled consistently, maybe this is just the beginning for Avatar: The Way of Water.
