Empire Mates Entertainment boss Banky Wellington is one of the happiest men around right now, having won the primaries to represent Eti-Osa in the federal House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
If you’re not in the wards, you’re not in the war, he said, referencing his campaign into the recess of the place he wants to represent in the Green Chamber.
Banky W’s success at the primaries has provoked great hope among young people that a great awakening is taking place in Nigeria and that the young are taking over.
This isn’t the first time he’s vied for an elective post, however. He had made an attempt before but was unsuccessful. He’s hoping to rewrite his story with the upcoming election.
Not many know him as a politician previously, but with the inroads he’s currently making, it wouldn’t be long before his name starts flying all over the place.
These days, when Banky W’s name is mentioned, some people make references to Desmond Elliot and warn him that he must not derail like Desmond Elliot, who appeared to have joined the league of the corrupt after he was elected.
It remains to be seen who will win Eti-Osa on election day.
