Basketball African League Ignites Interest, Excitement

The Basketball Africa League is commencing and there is, understandably, great interest and excitement over that. Teams are angling to give their best and be the fans themselves are fevered with expectancy and hopeful their teams would emerge champions at the end of the day.

The wait is finally over and then comes the action as teams face off on the pitch to decide who among them should be champions.

While the Basketball Africa League (BAL) officially commences next year, the battle for places in the next edition of the game is commencing, which is the reason for all the excitement.

According to FIBA, groups D and E, which comprises four teams each, will face off, with two teams emerging from their pool to leap into the Elite 16 Round, which would be played in November and December.

Of particular interest is the South African side the Cape Town Tigers, which recently signed Zaire Wade, son of former NBA star and now comedian Dwayne Wade. He will join other notable names like Michael Gbinije and Billy Preston as the team shows off what it is made of.

The Cape Town Tigers also recently snagged Nigerian singer Mr Eazi as one of its investors. The songster had tweeted about his investment, noting he was inspired to take the initiative by his “mentor” Jay-Z.
