Big Zulu’s Inkabi Records To Organize A Maskandi Vs Hip Hop Football Match, See Details

Inkabi Records, which is owned by Big Zulu, has announced a football match for rival genres maskandi and hip hop.

Hip hop, of which Big Zulu is an advocate, has a larger following in South Africa than maskandi. But it remains to be seen if hip hop artistes will ultimately outplay their maskandi brothers on the pitch.

Big Zulu announced the impending match on his Instagram page, tagging a key player in the maskandi genre, Khuzani Mpungose, who’ll be a part of the match and whose image is, like Big Zulu’s, on the flier for the game.

The 11 players for maskandi and those for hip hop were represent with empty square boxes. In a post to Instagram, Khuzani Mpungose asked fans to guess which who and who would be unveiled as players for both genres, and which would win at the end of the game. He also informed them that the list of players will be unveiled tomorrow.

The venue for the match is Mboleko Stadium in Atteridgeville, Pretoria. The time for the match was not given, but fans are already. This much was obvious in their responses to posts by Big Zulu and Khuzani.
