Brenda Mtambo and More Support Ntokozo’s Sama Wins

Brenda Mtambo, HLE, and more have spoken out in support of Ntokozo Mbambo’s SAMA wins.

The drama surrounding Kelly Khumalo’s SAMAs rant has been crazy, but Mzansi is speaking out in support of Ntokozo Mbambo. The Gospel star won Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Contemporary Faith Album at the 29th annual South African Music Awards, which held at SunBet Arena in Pretoria.

Her “Lavish Worship” album helped score those wins. Kelly’s “From A God To A King” album gained her nominations for the Best Afro-Pop Album and Female Artist of the Year category, but she didn’t win any. So, she took to social media to accuse the organizers of rigging the votes.

She wrote in a deleted tweet, “She knows she doesn’t deserve it. Numbers don’t lie. Even Ntokozo knows numbers don’t lie. We are not scared of her. Fuseg Samas,”

Thandiswa Mazwai, Hle, and Khumalo’s former friend Brenda Mtambo took to the X app to support Ntokozo. They told her she deserved the awards.

Thandiswa wrote, “Congratulations Ntokozo. That voice deserves all the awards. It soothes and gives hope,”

RiSA communications manager and Sama’s spokesperson Lesley Mofokeng told TshisaLIVE,

“For the record, the SAMA would like to state that we celebrate the wins of Ntokozo Mbambo, and we are very proud of her achievements, and we are very encouraged by the support we saw playing out on social media.”
