South Africa’s film universe suffered yet another hit with the recent death of Mncedisi Shabangu. The former “Rhythm City” actor died on 24 July. He was 53 years.
In a statement released on Facebook, his family confirmed the death, noting that he died in the early hours of Sunday. The cause of death was not disclosed, however.
The family also expressed gratitude to those who have been sharing condolences with the family. Amid the tragedy, however, the family also asked for privacy while it mourns the deceased, who was a celebrated actor in his lifetime.
The memorial and funeral arrangements for the deceased have not been announced yet. But then the family noted the public should expect that soon.
