It is almost traditional these days for a musician to release merchandise to promote a project. So no surprises when the merch pops out and people buy them.
South African rapper The Big Hash stands as an example of this reality. The songster recently released a body of work dubbed “Heartbreak Hotel.” Now, he’s released merch to promote the project.
In posts on his Instagram Story, he announced the merch to his fans, letting them know of the availability and encouraging them to go grab whichever they like. He indicated the merch is a limited edition.
Of course, that is the tradition. Keeping them limited means they are valued and rushed at release.
