Somewhere in Nigeria, the ground is wet with mourning. Ifeanyi David Adedeji Adeleke, the first son of Nigerian singer Davido, is dead. The kid, who celebrated his third birthday days ago, drowned in the swimming pool of his father’s banana island mansion.
A while before the tragic incident, the DMW boss had shared a clip of him teaching Ifeanyi to swim in the same pool. And then father and son had exited the pool. Days later, tragedy would strike, shattering the tranquillity of the household.
Davido was reportedly in Ibadan with the kid’s mother, Chioma, for a family gathering when tragedy struck.
According to multiple reports, the kid was left with his minders while the couple travelled. Somehow, he managed to make it to the pool and drown with no one noticing for a long time. When he was eventually;y found, he was rushed to a hospital on the island, where he was reportedly confirmed BID (brought In Dead).
At the time of writing, neither Davido nor his girlfriend Chioma had confirmed the death. Amid the silence from that angle, a screenshot is circulating on Twitter claiming that the kid survived.
At any rate, the police have picked up all the domestic staff in the house at the time of the incident.
