Dharam Sewraj, Former Director of Universal Music SA, Is Dead

It’s another bad news for South Africa’s music orbit. Dharam Sewraj, a former director of Universal Music SA,  is dead. It is unknown what exactly caused his death, but the former record label executive was said to have had a short illness until his death in a hospital in Mzansi.

Those who knew him are currently in mourning, including Winnie Khumalo. She announced his death on Twitter, stating that it saddens her that he is no more. She tagged – or rather mentioned – some key figures in South African music to her tweet, which you can check out below.

Well, it hasn’t been all bad news for the Universal Music Group family. While the label has lost a former executive, it has just signed a new deal with celebrated rap figure Khuli Chana.

Details of the deal have not been made public, but it is clear Khuli Chana is excited about so, and so is his wife Lamiez Holworthy. Khuli Chana is said to have a new project in the pipeline. You wanna follow us and stay tuned for that, too.
