DJ Lady Du Shares Her Experience and Thoughts On Being Ghetto

DJ Lady Du is the amapiano lady of the moment, in high demand in the genre and loving all the attention. Well, she has earned her stripes.

The amapiano DJ is often called ghetto, but it’s an appellation she enjoys and actually encourages. The basis for this was an encounter she had in the restroom one day.

She detailed that experience in a recent Instagram post. According to the songstress, who recently worked with Family Tree boss Cassper Nyovest on the trending “Angisho Guys” song, she had a serious conversation with a black girl who was calling other black girls ghetto because they were loud.

She was angry with the lady and made it clear that she (Lady Du) was as ghetto as they come. Lady Du said she could jump in a spinning car, but that wouldn’t make her dirty: she sits in boardrooms, get work done and make her own money.

The restroom experience made her realize how divided Mzansi is. So she decided to align her brand with everything that represents the hood or the ghetto, if you please.
