Mzansi hit maker, DJ Maphorisa is accused of scamming a record label.
We never thought we would ever see DJ Maphorisa’s name attached to scam news. This has to be a first. Phori is considered one of the most successful DJs in the SA music industry. Over the course of his successful career, he has had a list of hits to his name, and a ton of endorsements.
However, a record label owner, Letty Mncube is accusing the “Particula” hit maker of scam. Daily Sun reports that the Scorpion Kings member allegedly promised Letty some PR work for two of her artistes but never came through. Letty revealed to the publication that Phori asked for R48,000 initially.
She was then asked to pay in installments since she couldn’t afford it. She revealed that Phori was expected to record the artists, get gigs and promote their work on social media. After paying R3500, she became suspicious because Phori hadn’t done any of it.
