Mzansi muso DJ Maphorisa has escaped death after unknown gunmen opened fire on his Mercedes Benz tour bus in the East Rand area.
The celebrated musician was reportedly driving from a gig in Vosloorus to another in Katlehong when he was attacked at 10pm Monday 15 February.
The gunmen were said to have fired several shots from behind the tour bus, overtaken the vehicle, stopped and fired several shots more.
The DJ was reportedly unhurt in the attack but two of his associated reportedly sustained bullet wounds in the solar plexus and have been rushed to Union Hospital in Alberton.
At this point, it is unknown what the mission of the gunmen was. Were they out to rob the DJ and his team who had just rounded off a gig and were heading to another? Or perhaps they just wanted to kill him?
By the way, it has not been established if DJ Maphorisa’s pal Kabza De Small was with im at the time of the shooting. Hopefully those injured recover soon.
