Dr Malinga’s Funding For 5 TVET College Students Has Mzansi Applauding

South African musician Dr Malinga has been applauded for coming to the aid of needy students by granting them bursaries.

The musician recently announced online that he was looking to fund five TVET college students from disadvantaged backgrounds. He also made it known that the initiative does not mean that he is monied. He merely wanted to help with the little he has.

The initiative has been greeted with applause from across South Africa. Many South Africans were especially pleased because the songster himself had only recently battled hard times and was in the process of losing his home.

Just last year, Dr Malinga had gone public with his financial woes and implored the public for assistance. Mzansi was more than happy to make donations for him to settle his financial obligations. That moment is past now and the musician appears to be in a better place financially.

And with the plan to fund 5 TVET College students, Dr Malinga appeared to have imprinted his name in the consciousness of many across South Africa.

Of course, he wouldn’t be the first, nor would he be the last to give a bursary to indigent students. Only, such a gesture is not too common among musicians.
