Elon Musk Warns About Malema’s Controversial Chant

Apartheid rule might be over but memories of that bloody epoch in South African history are still fresh. This was perhaps evident in a clip in which the red beret group, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), called for the killing of the Boer (white). It provoked a response from Twitter boss Elon Musk.

Reacting to a clip shared by someone else, in which the EFF leader Julius Malema appeared to be leading the chant for the killing of the Boer, Musk warned that what was happening in the clip was an open call to genocide against the whites in South Africa.

Genocide is, of course, not a joke. And the times the world had experienced it, people rarely ever fully recover.

To Musk’s credit, he tagged the current president, Cyril Ramaphosa, the man at whose desk the buck stops. Whether the president will act on that is left to time.

One thing is clear, though: genocide is never in anyone’s interest, as it most often creates permanent damage to the psyche of a people and even fosters eternal enmity.

By the way, Musk recently turned Twitter into the “X” app and promised some new, beneficial changes on the platform as well, including being able to search bookmarks.
