Employee Who Allegedly Stole From Era By DJ Zinhle To Go On Trial As Mediation Fails

The trial of Thobile Malatjie, the employee of DJ ZInhle’s Era by DJ Zinhle’s Menlyn shop who allegedly stole from the business, will be going on trial.

Thiobile stands accused of fraud after being found with goods valued at R96k, which she had reportedly lifted from the shop and hidden at her home.

The case has not just come up, however. It has been around all along, with Thobile trying hard to get a mediation that would see her settle DJ Zinhl without the court intervening.  But it appears the “Umlilio” singer is uninterested in mediation but would rather the court handle the case.

So the case would go to trial, with Thobile ducked for fraud. She was arrested earlier this January but was released on R5k bail. With the mediation attempt unsuccessful, she would now go to trial.

DJ Zinhle had suspected Thobile was stealing from her. So she decided to set a trap for the salesgirl and actually caught her in her heist. It’s been a legal war since then. She is expected to appear in court again on July 24.

Some South Africans are curious about the court option that DJ Zinhle has opted for, wondering whether she would recover all her money that way.
