Ghislaine Maxwell Sentenced To 20 Years In Jail For Aiding Jeffrey Epstein

Ghislaine Maxwell has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for aiding disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein abuse young girls.

Ghislaine was convicted last year for recruiting and then trafficking four teenage girls to be sexually exploited by Epstein, her boyfriend at the time.

While the ruling would ensure that Ghislaine, who’s currently 60 years, spends at least two decades in prison, one of the girls he exploited decades ago wasn’t impressed with the sentencing. She thinks that Ghislaine should be dumped in the slammer for life.

Epstein isn’t around to witness the sentencing, having killed himself in his Manhattan jail in 2019.

During the sentencing of Ghislaine Maxwell, the presiding judge Alison J Nathan had described the socialite’s actions as “heinous and predatory.” The judge singled out Ghislaine for playing a pivotal role in selecting vulnerable young girls and facilitating their abuse.

The judge also noted that the sentencing was to pass a message that such crimes as Ghislaine committed wouldn’t go unpunished.

Her attorneys had argued for a sentence of fewer than five years but could not persuade the judge. Ghislaine herself looked ahead without emotion when the verdict was handed down. At 60, the prospect of two decades in prison might break the spirit. But then the law is the law.
