Gospel singer Hlengiwe Mhlaba has reportedly undergone back surgery after a nasty fall last month. She is said to have fallen while preparing for a show.
The impact of the fall was so severe that, according to her rep, her back and ankle were affected. She had to undergo surgery to put her body back in order again.
In fact, within the fall narrative, another had emerged that she had died. But her publicist had countered the claim, noting that she was alive and well – only nursing the injuries sustained following a severe fall.
There are also talks that some of her bookings might be cancelled as she recuperates. The songstress has been receiving goodwill messages from members of the public since news of her fall and hospitalization became public knowledge.
Before her fall, some social media users had formed the habit of making a joke about her weight and looks. Hlengiwe Mhlaba admitted this has affected her in a negative way and appealed to people to be conscious of the mental health of others and be kind.
She was to have given a talk on health issues, including depression, which she suffered from, when she fell and hurt herself.
