It is nothing new that Babes Wodumo prefers speaking IsiZulu to English. Who can blame her though? Her music is centred around the local “isiZulu” language and has been a lot of success so she can practically speak in any tongue she wants.
If you have seen Babes’ interviews, she prefers to not reply in English but a recent one seems to be different. The “Idandokazi” hit maker recently poked fun at herself with a video shared on her Instagram page. The video sees her talking to an interviewer in English.
She talks about the impact of her music in Gqom music. The funny video is simply captioned “English” with two laughter emojis. Well, we can’t fault her for trying. Babes continues to prove she is a hit maker with the recent success of her album “Idonkazi” which features her boyfriend, Mampintsha on virtually all the tracks.
