Guilty. There you have the verdict about the controversial shooting “accident” involving Canadian rapper Tory Lanez and his American counterpart, Megan Thee Stallion.
During a night out in the highbrow Beverly Hills neighbourhood, an altercation had reportedly erupted between Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion, and he had reportedly fired multiple rounds in the direction of her feet.
At the time of the incident, Mega, hitherto quiet, noted that she stepped on glass. Along the line, however, infuriated by what she considered a misrepresentation from Tory Lanez’s team, she had insisted that the “Numbers Out the Gym” rapper shot at her.
A group of Los Angeles jurors yesterday found the rapper guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot back in 2020. The verdict didn’t sit well before his family, including his father and mother, who were both present in court.
Both had reportedly declaimed, “This system stands before God!” before being led out of the courtroom by deputies.
With the guilty verdict, Tory Lanez faces up to 22 years in jail. His faith will be determined on January 27, which has been fixed for sentencing. It will be interesting to see how the case turns out next year, For Lanez, it is not yet uhuru.
