We all know how big The Oscars are. Everyone knows that whatever happens on that stage will forever be remembered. The 2022 Academy Awards was marred by controversy after Best Actor winner Will Smith went up to the stage and slapped Chris Rock for disrespecting his wife.
We all did not see that coming. The world could not stop talking about it. While several A-listers slammed Smith for what he did, some spoke out in support of the famous actor. Jaden Smith took his father’s side and is quoted saying, “keep my wife’s name out of your f–king mouth.”
Will Smith later released a tear-streaked apology video aimed at placating Rock, the Oscars and the world. He said, “In this business, you gotta have people disrespecting you and you gotta pretend that that’s okay.”
