Johnny Depp’s Lawyers Talk The Success Of His Defamation Case

After a long legal battle, actor Johnny Depp had emerged victorious in his suit against his former wife, Amber Heard, winning $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.

His legal victory was the subject of conversation between Camille Vasquez and Ben Chew. According to the duo, the client felt on top of the world, like a heavy weight had been lifted from his shoulders. And now the actor feels like he’s gotten his life back.

Although Depp was awarded $5 million in punitive damages, he’d receive less than that because Virginia law caps punitive damages at $350,000.

According to Vasquez, Depp had the opportunity to speak the truth for the first time at the trial, and he connected well with the jury, telling what really happened in his relationship with Heard.

He wouldn’t think the verdict was a blow to the #MeToo movement, however. According to him, domestic violence has no gender, and anyone who’s a victim is encouraged to speak out.

It’s been a long way to victory for Johnny Depp. At the outset, on social media, he was roundly condemned as an abuser. Along theine, though, when more facts began to emerge about the case, public opinion switched in his favour.
