At sea, the pirates are said to always be on alert. Interestingly, that appears to be the situation with the technical team of a football club of the same name = Orlando Pirates – or so its coach Jose Riveiro has said.
The Buc recently scored a win and are set to take on the Stellies this weekend. However, Riveiro, a Spaniard, is not one to rest on his oars – as the cliché goes. Despite the triumph on the pitch, he has his eyes on more wins and has clued the football community in on what happens when the team loses.
He noted that if the team doesn’t win, the technical team doesn’t sleep. For his part, if he loses a match he doesn’t sleep either. He also ditches his meals, from dinner to breakfast.
He noted that the case is the same for the players. Although on the surface it might appear like they don’t care. They really do.
The team appeared to have been in poor form recently. However, the victory against Arrows has rejuvenated everyone on the team, from the coach to the player, and they are looking forward to their next clash later this weekend.
With the recent win, Bucs, hitherto in eighth position on the league table, are now in fifth position.
