It was a reflective moment for South African rapper K.O. after a trip to Los Angeles, United States, for the BET Awards, where he was nominated in the Best International Act category. He lost to the Nigerian singer Burna Boy.
It was a wonderful experience regardless, and he was happy to have made it to the list of nominees and eventually made it to the States for the award ceremony.
In an Instagram post, he shared snaps from the occasion and videos, too, noting in the caption how it was a splendid experience and he crushed the carpet. He ended his post by thanking the award body. You can check it out below.
The nomination was significant for K.O. because it was actually the first time he would get the BET nod. So, winning itself wasn’t too important. There is another year and another chance to aim to take home the scudetto.
Easily one of South Africa’s most memorable rappers, K.O. is a veteran who has managed to remain musically relevant at a time when his contemporaries appeared to have fallen off a long time ago. Not surprisingly, many younger artists look up to him with the ultimate dream being to work with him one day.
