Kaizer Chiefs Announce Departure of Head Coach Molefi Ntseki

Cavin Johnson Steps in as Interim Coach Amidst Team's Recent Struggles

In a recent development, Kaizer Chiefs, one of South Africa’s premier football clubs, has confirmed the departure of their Head Coach, Molefi Ntseki. The decision was reached amicably by mutual consent following a series of disappointing results that the team has faced.

The announcement came after a meeting held on Monday morning, where both parties agreed that parting ways was the most appropriate action considering the current circumstances. Ntseki’s association with Kaizer Chiefs began in June 2021 when he joined as the Head of Technical and Youth Development. Following Ntseki’s departure, Cavin Johnson, who had recently joined the club as the Head of the Youth Development Academy, will now take over the reins as the First Team coach on an interim basis. Dillon Sheppard, the current assistant coach, will continue in his role under Johnson’s leadership. Meanwhile, Assistant Coach Arthur Zwane will revert to his previous position within the club’s development structures.

Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr., expressed his gratitude towards Ntseki for his contributions, both at the development level and with the senior team. He stated, “I would like to thank Coach Ntseki for his contribution to the Club since he arrived here. We wish him success in his future endeavors.”

On his part, the departing coach conveyed his appreciation to the Chairman, Dr. Kaizer Motaung, and the Board of Directors for the opportunity to coach Amakhosi. He also extended his best wishes to the team for the remainder of the season.

This change in leadership comes at a crucial time for Kaizer Chiefs, and fans will be keenly watching how the team performs under the interim guidance of Cavin Johnson.
