Kelly Khumalo finally releases a public statement addressing the alleged scam she was caught in the middle of.
No one wishes to wake up to news that their name was used to scam a lot of money off anyone. Sadly, that’s all we hear lately. Yesterday, news broke that Mzansi celeb, Kelly Khumalo‘s name was allegedly used by her brother-in-law, Mhlo Gumede to scam an events place owner named Bhekhani Ndlovu. R17,000 was the reported amount.
While Bhekhani thought he had made a good deal, he later on realized he had been played. Kelly recently took to Instagram to address the situation and clearly state that she is in no way associated with her brother-in-law, Mhlo business-wise.
She has stated clearly that he is “in no way” her manager, her bookings manager, nor part of her team. He “never was” and “never will be”.
The statement reads:

On Behalf of KELLY KHUMALO ENTERTAINMENT representing the artist Kelly Khumalo, we pride ourselves with honesty, loyalty and respect to our clients. It is sad and disappointing that artists and celebrity scams are widespread these days.
We would like to clarify that KELLY KHUMALO ENTERTAINMENT and the artist Kelly Khumalo were never informed nor had the knowledge of the event titled “Stay Fresh Saturdays with Vusi Nova and Kelly Khumalo planned for last year on the 16. November 2019. Our Bookings office never received a booking enquiry for the mentioned event last year from Gesh Lounge.
We have no knowledge of whether the accused Mhlo Gumede has used Kelly Khumalo’s name for his benefit or not. Neither the artist nor the Bookings manager was informed of this act and it is the first we encounter such.
We can confirm that our Bookings manager Mr. Pat Magodzho is responsible for
all Kelly Khumalo’s bookings. No other person handles Kelly Khumalo’s Bookings.
