Kendrick Lamar Gets Sued For Copyright Infringement Over “Loyalty” featuring Rihanna

Kendrick Lamar gets dragged to court for Copyright Infringement over his song “Loyalty” featuring Rihanna.

We are not sure about this but Top Dawg Entertainment rapper, Kendrick Lamar might just be the most sued rapper for Copyright Infringement. The “Bad Blood” rapper has been sued for songs including “Keisha’s Song”, “Rigamortis”, and “All The Stars”. This new lawsuit adds to the list.

Reports state that Lamar is being accused of Copyright Infringement by a musician named Terrance Hayes. Hayes claims that Kendrick’s song “Loyalty” carries “the entire composition, including title melody, harmony, and rhythm,” from his own song.

According to him, in 2011, he worked with another musician, Josef Leimberg with whom he created the song. Leimberg then worked with K-dot in 2015 contributing to his award-winning album “To Pimp A Butterfly”. Hayes alleges that producer, Terrace Martin accessed Leimberg’s computer and lifted the song.

The lawsuit doesn’t only list Lamar, but also lists Leimberg, Martin and Top Dawg Entertainment. He also claims the song was “slowed down through a synthesizer and combined it with another sample to disguise the copying.” He is reportedly asking for profits and any other monies gained from the song, and for his legal fees to be covered.
