Limpopo artiste King Monada recently showed off a pricey BMW on Twitter. But South Africans were unimpressed and lectured him on how to be a good father to one of his children.
Apparently the “Malwedhe” hitmaker has been paying just R500 for child maintenance and insisting he cannot increase it to R1200, a sum the child’s mother has been requesting, according to reports.
Some fans were miffed he could buy a luxury BMW but refused to increase the sum for child maintenance. One particular fan, a man, was so annoyed that he accused the celebrated music producer of generally giving South African men a bad name by his action.
By the way, King Monada is one of the leading figures in South Africa’s bolobedu music scene. He received global attention when he released “Malwedhe” – or the fainting dance song. He has not bee able to match the success of that song, though?
